Statement from the Foundation Board on Chief Justice Donald Beatty

The South Carolina State University Foundation Board expresses its sincere appreciation for the service of Chief Justice Donald Beatty, whose leadership and commitment have meaningfully advanced the Foundation’s mission in support of the University.

During his tenure, Justice Beatty strengthened the Board’s governance, helped sharpen its strategic vision, and reinforced its focus on delivering impact for South Carolina State University and its students. His contributions leave the Foundation well-positioned for continued progress.

As Foundation Board Chairman Stephen Beatty noted:

Reflecting on his service, Chief Justice Don Beatty shared:
“I enjoyed my service on the Foundation Board and remain confident in its work. I believe that it is best that I resign now that I am a trustee of the University. Please continue your good work.”
